Enhancing Hydraulic Fluid Cleanliness

Explore cutting-edge solutions for offline filtration and contamination investigation with Applied Fluid Power.

Your Trusted Partner in Hydraulic System Excellence

Comprehensive Equipment Services

At Applied Fluid Power, we provide meticulous offline filtration and contamination management strategies tailored to your hydraulic systems. Our expert team ensures the utmost cleanliness in hydraulic oil, optimizing performance and extending equipment life.

Kidney Loop systems operate independently of the main system filtration system ensuring no disruption to existing systems.  They are designed to resist system shocks, maintaining filtration performance under varying conditions.  The independent control of flow rates and pressure optimizes filtration efficiency and effectiveness. Systems can be designed to specific ISO cleanliness targets and operational requirements, ensuring optimal performance for your application.

Our systems are equipped with filter elements that have a high dirt holding capacity, effectively removing all types of contaminates down to 1 micron.

Water in hydraulic, lubrication, heat transfer and insulating fluids adversely affects fluid performance and is a threat to system reliability.

Our design team can assist you with designing, installing and maintaining a system specific for your application.

We have the experience and expertise to build a fluid management system for your hydraulic and lubrication oils on your critical equipment to ensure your fluid is free of solid contaminates and water. Removing solid and water contaminates with our filtration products extends hydraulic component life, reduces bearing wear, extends the life of your hydraulic and lubrication oils reducing costly oil replacement and disposal, and reduces filter element consumption. In the end, Applied Fluid Power's Fluid Management systems keep your systems running clean reducing their negative impact on the environment.

Capital Equipment is one of the most expensive assets for any business and therefore, regular maintenance will extend the life of capital equipment, reduce capex, and mitigate the risk of unplanned downtime.  Studies show that more than half of lost useful machine life is due to mechanical wear of components.  Approximately 70% of mechanical wear is caused by particle contamination in the oil.  Clean oil results in reduced wear rates resulting in higher machine availability and machine life.

What is clean oil?  When we discuss cleanliness we often refer to the ISO particle count of the oil.  According to the ISO 4406 standard, the ISO particle count is a measure of the number of particles greater than 4, 6, and 14 microns in every milliliter of fluid. The number of particles is then converted to what is referred to as the ISO Code or Range Code. The range code represents the number of particles of a given size in one milliliter of sample. Results from an oil cleanliness testing are typically reported in a three number format such as 18/16/13, where 18 represents the range code representing the number of particles that are 4 microns and larger, 16 the range of particles that are 6 microns and larger, and 13 represents particles 14 microns and larger.

Our fluid management services can provide a program to manage your oil lubricants through the entire life cycle of the oil.  From the time the fluid arrives at your facility is stored, transferred and put to use our solutions have the process and equipment to keep it clean.  We offer regularly scheduled fluid sampling and analysis, process audits, and equipment assessments ensuring your equipment is properly protected with clean fluids and filtration technology that is operating per specifications.

  • Systematic Fluid Monitoring
  • Equipment diagnostics and audits
  • Proactive preventative maintenance
  • Resolution of problems at the source
  • Recommendations and technical support throughout the engagement

We offer a full coverage in hydra ulic & lube fluid filter technology for low, medium and high-pressure systems. All viscosities and all operating temperatures, protecting and extending equipment lifespan. ISO 4406 cleanliness verification helps you maintain optimal oil cleanliness levels, thus ensuring smoother operations and reduced wear on your machinery.

When we specify a fluid filter design, the system’s cleanliness requirements, operating pressure, flow rate, and the filter’s dirt-holding capacity are all taken into consideration to ensure the best solution.
